54 Day Novena and the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

It’s been quite a while since I’ve last posted a video or a blog! So what better day to reach out to you, than on the Feast Day of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary!

As many of you probably know, Mary was conceived without original sin. After 3 days following her death, she rose body and soul into heaven. Can you imagine how the angels joyfully sang that day!

And on this day of celebration, Father Richard Heilman kicked off his 54-day Novena. If you’re not familiar with his Novena, be sure and sign up NOW! Go to www.usgraceforce.com

It’s 1:00 pm Eastern Standard time as I write this…pitiful..but I’m already experiencing hunger pangs and temptations to eat a bagel! My goal is one small meatless meal to be eaten around 4:00 pm. Fasting is not my strong suit so this next 54 days will be a constant struggle for me, but I am determined to tame the flesh with my Guardian Angels help! I’ll be offering this struggle and suffering to the Holy souls in purgatory.

Now, I”d like to share with you a podcast that Father Heilman and Doug Barry began last night. They plan to have a podcast every Wednesday during the 54-day Novena, which ends of October 7th, the feast of Our Lady of Victory, or it’s also called the feast of the Holy Rosary.

Father Heilman’s Youtube channel is called Grace Force. Subscribe to his channel, then subscribe to mine! LOL! Seriously, I listened to the podcast last night, and my heart was so touched with the motivation to complete the 54-Novena. Let’s face it, with the division going on in the Catholic Church and in the United States, we need to step up to the plate and start fighting for Jesus.

In my video above, I share one example of what I experienced at Mass this past Sunday that bothered me so much I reached out to a faithful Catholic friend to talk about the incident. I’m not going to go into it in this post. You can find out the details by watching my video above, “Pray with me.”

Then I read Bishop Barron’s post on how angry he was when he read the latest Pew Research Poll, stating that only 1/3 of Catholics that attend Sunday Mass believe in Transubstantiation. Where have these Bishops been? I wasn’t shocked at all. All you have to do is go to Mass and see the results for yourself! I’ve been angry for years over the disrespect shown to Jesus during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass! Bishop Barron is just getting angry now? Please! It just proves that the Bishops are so removed from the real world that they have no idea how poorly formed the laity is because the homilies have been so watered down not to offend anyone!

We need to pray for Bishop Barron and all the Bishops. Listen to Father Heilman’s podcast above. He and Doug have some great insights into this problem.

Be sure to attend the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass today as a Holy Day of Obligation. And join me in Father Heilman’s 54-day Novena. Let me know in the comments below if you plan to join!

To honor Our Blessed Mother today, I plan to go to confession, 5:30 Mass, do the instructions in the 54-day Novena, fast from TV, news and eat one small meatless meal. Basically, my day will be spent (outside of my work obligations) in reading St, Faustina Dairy, reading the Bible, in mental prayer and reflection.

Today is Our Blessed Mother’s day! Alleluia!! Dear Mother, pray for us!

God Bless YOU!
